Works of charity: feedng the hungry (fol. 44r)

Description

The scene in the border begins a series of historiated borders depicting works of charity. Here an initial 'G', composed of acanthus foliage, is historiated with the scene of a woman standing at a doorway to a house, and offering (probably) food to two pilgrims. The border is decorated with pink daisies, blue thistles and a putto with wings. Context: Hours of the Holy Spirit: Die morghen loue: God wilt dencken
