Christ carrying the Cross (fol. 77r)
Description
The border is historiated with the scene of Christ carrying the cross, surrounded by soldiers. The moment depicted shows him stumbling and being supported by Simon of Cyrene. The initial 'H', composed of acanthus foliage, is historiated with the Virgin Mary, mourning, and supported by two figures, one of them perhaps St John. The border is decorated with pea flowers.
