The Entombment of Christ (fol. 83r)
Description
The border is historiated with the scene of Christ's Entombment. Christ is lowered into the tomb on a white cloth by Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea, while the Virgin Mary, dressed in blue, mourns over the body of her son. The initial 'H', composed of green acanthus foliage, is painted over the scene. The border is decorated with pea flowers and speedwells.
