St. Catherine and St. Barbara (fol. 139r)
Description
The border shows St. Catherine of Alexandria, with a sword, an attribute of her martydom, and a book, a symbol of her wisdom. Her garments refer to her royal descent. The emperor who ordered her execution lies at her feet. The initial is inhabited by St. Barbara holding a tower. The border also has pinks and daisies.
