Martin Lammert trade card (advertisement)
Description
Pictorial 19th century folding lithographed trade card (advertisement) of Martin Lammert on blue pasteboard. On front is an image of Martin Lammert's store on Corner Broadway and Locust Street, St. Louis. On reverse is an image of St. Louis Exposition and Music Hall which 'Opens Sept 3rd 1884, Closes Oct 18th 1884'. Inside is a notice to customers. Transcription: To our visitors. In order to meet the demands of an appreciative public, I have fitted my mammoth establishment, south-east corner of Broadway and Locust St., with the largest and most complete assortment in the west of Artistic & Plain Furniture, wholesale and retail. While the exposition, as a collection of manufacturing and other interests, is well worth a visit and careful study, I would respectfully suggest that many of the great interests of St. Louis can scarcely be appreciated when measured by the exhibits at the exposition. You are therefore cordially invited to visit my emporium, and examine the large stock of the latest patterns of furniture in the market. Goods are sold at wholesale and retail, at reasonable prices, and prompt and careful attention given to all orders. Martin Lammert.
