Old Sheep Washing Place: Outgang Beck
Description
Copy of a photograph taken ca. 1930 of one of the periodical sheep washings on Outgang Beck at Thornton Rust ( Wensleydale), before the practice was discontinued. The beck has been dammed, and a farmer stands in the sheep fold whilst sheep pass through the washpool. The provenance of this photograph is unknown. Originally held in Photo File: Sheep Washing.
