Description
Copy of a photograph taken in the late 19th century or early 20th century, of a crowd gathered to watch sheep washing on Muker Beck ( Swaledale). The crowd includes men, women and children. Carts visible in background. Mounted on Photo File card. With ms. notes recording references to sheep washing as a local festivity. The provenance of the photograph is not known.
