This file consists of correspondence between Stewart Sanderson and various correspondents connected with the building industry, regarding topping-out ceremonies. The correspondents include Norbert F. Foord of the Institute of Building, London; the secretary of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA); Ian M. Leslie, editor of 'Building' magazine; Neil Heayes at Holland and Hannen and Cubitts Ltd.; the editor of 'The Illustrated Carpenter and Builder'(accompanied by photocopy of an unpublished typed article on topping out, possibly by R. A. Mills; 6 leaves); R. A. Mills of Higgs & Hill Ltd.(accompanied by a photocopy of an article written by Mills for the in-house journal); Jennifer Pringle at Trollope & Colls (accompanied by a photocopied typed article on the origins of the topping-out ceremony).
