Description
This file contains a copy of a typed paper by Colin Wharton, on Warwickshire crafts. The paper is in two parts: Part I includes ms. illustrations and accompanying text; Part II consists of Wharton's introduction and the full text of the paper (without illustrations). The paper includes information, with related sketches, on hurdle-making, chairmaking, woodcarving, hedge-laying, mole-catching, corn dolly making, thatching, blacksmithing, wheelwrighting, saddling, lacemaking, and traditional equipment and tools. Both papers include editorial markings and corrections. The paper is accompanied by a letter from Wharton to Stewart Sanderson, signalling his intention to include the paper (at least in part) in a publication under the editorship of Geraint Jenkins.
