Shoemaker's Vice
Description
Shoemaker's vice in the possession of Jack Lynas, Holgate Farm, Hurst Moor ( Arkengarthdale). The shoemaker's vice is an implement made of two tapering pieces of wood which fit into a wooden handle. The two blades are adjusted by a screw so that they become more bowed as the screw is driven in, with the result that their outer ends press more tightly together. Mounted on Photo File card. Originally held in Photo File: Papermaking, Skin and Leatherwork.
