This subseries contains typed and printed items relating to folklife activities and research, both in the United Kingdom, and in Europe and the United States. It includes printed ephemera and guides to folk collections and places of interest; guides, catalogues, bibliographies for folk-related audio-visual items, books and dissertations; information on folk-related conferences and events; obituaries of folklorists and dialectologists, including Harold Orton; information on oral history organisations; information on the study of folklife as an academic discipline and the work of academic institutions in this field; information on travelling exhibitions in Sweden; information on societies and associations connected with folklife; and lists and catalogues of work in progress, and theses and dissertations produced at the Institute of Dialect and Folk Life Studies (IDFLS).
