Pig Scraping

Description

Three male members of the Peacock family (butchers) scraping a pig carcass outside, Muker ( Swaledale), using metal candle-holders with sharp edges round the base as pig scrapers. Two scrape the pig, whilst a third pours nearly boiling hot water onto the carcass to soften it. Mounted on Photo File card with LAVC/PHO/P0594. Originally held in Photo File: Care and Management of Livestock.
