Pig Scraping

Description

Four male members of the Peacock family (butchers) scraping a pig carcass outside, Muker ( Swaledale), using a metal candle-holder with a sharp edge round the base as a pig scraper. One scrapes the belly, whilst a second pours nearly boiling water from a jug onto the belly to soften it. Mounted on Photo File card. Originally held in Photo File: Care and Management of Livestock.
