This sub-subseries contains items on general aspects of traditional song, and includes collections of folk songs, a copy of a paper by Herbert Halpert on the attitude of American folk singers, lists of sound recordings and repositories with folk music collections published by the English Folk Dance and Song Society, copies of papers by Alan Lomax on the social context of folk songs, a copy of a paper by Maud Karpeles on pop music and folk songs, bibliographies and other lists on folk music and related institutions produced by the Archive of Folk Song at the Library of Congress (U.S.), and a copy of Tony Green's paper on the McCaffery ballad.
