This file contains lists produced by and for, and information about, the Archive of Folk Song at the Music Division of the Library of Congress. The file includes two versions of the paper, 'The Archive of Folk Song at the Library of Congress' (undated, and 4 April 1973); a photocopied sheet with details of the 'Check-list of Recorded Songs in the English Language in the Archive of American Folk Song to July 1940' (Washington D.C.: Library of Congress, 1942) (dated 3 December 1971); a press release on the issuing of recordings of Appalachian folk music, history and lore by the Library of Congress (18 September 1973); and the following typed and photocopied bibliographic lists compiled by the Archive's reference librarian, Joseph C. File arranged with general information at beginning, followed by bibliographic lists (arranged chronologically) and sound recording catalogues.
