This sub-subseries contains items on folk song, including texts and tunes. These include copies of song texts submitted by various informants to the Institute of Dialect and Folk Life Studies (IDFLS); a paper by Thomas Seboek on cross-cultural analysis of folk songs; a list of sound recordings of folk music held by the English Folk Dance and Song Society at Cecil Sharp House, London; a paper on Gaelic bards; song collections from Tommy Daniel and Frank Weatherill; examples of song from Yorkshire and Tyneside; an index to the Alfred Williams Collection of folk song at Swindon Reference Library; information on the group Staverton Bridge (Folk Group); a draft of a study of song in Adderbury, Oxfordshire, by Michael Pickering; photocopies of song collections by Frank Kidson, Charles William Buck (ms.) and Ian Russell (ms. and printed); and radio scripts for programmes in Ewan MacColl and Charles Parker's Radio Ballads series.
