Radio Ballads Scripts
Description
This file contains four typed transcripts of production scripts for programmes in the BBC's Radio Ballads series, by Ewan MacColl and Charles Parker. These are a copy of the production script for 'The Ballad of John Axon'(1958), telling the story of the death of a heroic Derbyshire train driver; a copy of the production script for 'Song of a Road'(1959), about the building of the M1 motorway in England; a copy of the script as recorded for 'Singing the Fishing'(1960), about North Sea herring fishermen; and a copy of the final production script for 'The Big Hewer' (1960), on coal mining. File arranged chronologically.
