This file contains photocopies of texts and tunes for songs in the repertoire of Frank Weatherill of Danby, North Yorkshire. These include the typed text of 'Beside the Bonnie Hawthorn', with a photocopy of Frank Weatherill's ms. notation of the tune; typed text of 'Your Faithful Sailor Boy', with a photocopy of Frank Weatherill's ms. notation of the tune; typed text of 'Three Jolly Fishermen', with a photocopy of Frank Weatherill's ms. notation of the tune; a photocopy of a typed page belonging to Frank Weatherill, including the text of 'My Father Gave Me an Acre of Land' [Ma Faather Gav Me a Yaker o' Land], a song known by his brother Jack Weatherill, written down by John Davison of Whitby Museum; a photocopy of an ms. letter from George Agar of Levisham (North Yorkshire) to Frank Weatherill, including some of the text of 'Ma Faather Gav Me a Yaker o' Land'; and a photocopy of Frank Weatherill's ms. recording of local versions of 'Ma Faather Gav Me a Yaker o' Land'. All song texts and tunes recorded by Frank Weatherill were written down from memory. Each photocopy includes ms. notes in the hand of Tony Green on their provenance. File contents retained in the order as found.
