Sound Recordings
Description
This subfonds contains both original and master copy fieldwork recordings, made primarily in England by fieldworkers collecting dialect data for the country-wide English Dialect Survey (later published in printed form as the Survey of English Dialects), language and folk life students studying at the University of Leeds, and non-Leeds students and others pursuing individual research interests through (or independently from) other British/overseas educational institutions.
