Buttermaking: Cleaning the Utensils
Description
Mrs. M. E. Scott pouring cool water over scalded buttermaking utensils, including a wooden bowl, scotch hands and butter prints, in her home, West Stonesdale ( Swaledale). When fully cooled, a small portion of salt will be rubbed on the utensils in order to prevent the butter from sticking them while it is being worked. Mounted on Photo File card with LAVC/PHO/P1489.
