Yorkshire Localities
Description
This file contains papers relating to the development of the Yorkshire Network of Localities. It includes an ms. list, 'Places Recorded by Ellis in Yorkshire'; an ms. map of Yorkshire with Yorkshire Survey of English Dialects (SED) localities marked; a photocopied map, completed in ms. and typescript, showing the SED 'Tentative Network of Yorkshire (24 places)'; a copy of the same map without ms. markings; and a shaded base map of England (with Wales). The Ellis referred to in the ms. list is probably Alexander J. Ellis. The shaded map appears to be the same as that showing areas worked in by particular fieldworkers. File arranged as found.
