Knitting Sheaths
Description
Wooden knitting sheaths (or sticks) belonging to Mrs. M. E. Scott of West Stonesdale ( Swaledale), on a low wooden stool. The knitting sheath is a simple form of holder to support one needle. The sheath was tucked into a belt worn by the knitter, and a curved needle stuck into a hole in the top. Mounted on Photo File card. With typed note. Originally held in Photo File: Knitting.
