Traditional Drama Conference Papers

This file contains copies of papers delivered at the Traditional Drama one-day conference on aspects of current scholarship in traditional British plays, at the University of Sheffield, 21 October 1978. There are five papers in all, each of which is represented by a duplicated typed copy and a standard photocopy (i.e. 2 copies of each paper). These are: - Peter Harrop, A Diachronic Approach to the Performance of English Folk Drama (1), 16 pp. - Peter Millington, The Problems of Analysing Folk Play Cast Lists Using Numerical Methods, 16, [17] pp., including appendices with cast lists of folk plays from Nottinghamshire and neighbouring counties, a description of the procedure used for compiling a standardised list of Nottinghamshire folk play characters, lists of character names and a thesaurus of Nottinghamshire character names. - Paul Smith, The Problems of Analysis of Traditional Play Texts: A Taxonomic Approach, 24, ii pp. - Georgina Smith 's , Excellent Examples: The Influence of Exemplar Texts on Traditional Drama Scholarship, 9, iii pp. Page 10 is missing from both the duplicated and photocopied copies. - Peter Stevenson and G. Buckley, The Chapbook and the Pace Egg Play in Rochdale, 18 pp. Both copies of this paper are duplicated. File arranged alphabetically by author.
