Children's Games: Student Surveys

Description

This file contains surveys of children's games collected by students at the Institute of Dialect and Folk Life Studies (IDFLS) from schoolchildren in Leeds. These include Elspeth Mitchell's ms. transcription of her tape-recorded conversations with five groups of 7 and 8 year-olds from Headingley Primary School, talking about playground and party games, and recorded on 28 November and 5 December 1979. Also includes Yolande Andrew's and Julianne Ingham's study of children's games undertaken at Quarry Mount Primary School, including an ms. transcription of rhymes collected from pupils and recorded on audio tape, ms. summaries of information collected in a questionnaire completed by the pupils, and photocopied questionnaires on children's games (with pupils' ms. answers).
