Easter Egg Survey
Description
This file contains items relating to the Folk Life Survey questionnaire on Easter Egg traditions. The survey appears to have been organised and conducted by Stewart Sanderson and Stanley Ellis. The file includes 3 copies of the typed Questionnaire No. 1 on Easter eggs, and a single copy of the circular letter sent out with the questionnaire (April 1962); ms. responses to the questionnaire from informants in Northern England (April-July 1962), and a newspaper cutting from the 'Darlington and Stockton Times and Ripon and Richmond Chronicle' on Northern Easter customs (21 April 1962) (2 copies); and typed copy correspondence from Stewart Sanderson to Ruth Hedger regarding her involvement in the survey (August 1962). File contents retained in the order as found, with correspondence in chronological order.
