House Types

Description

This file contains items relating to different types of dwelling house, including cuttings from 'The Guardian' newspaper and 'Country Life' magazine on a medieval aisled house in Castle Caereinion used as a barn, a (Quaker?) meeting house at Horningham, Wiltshire, and a 15th century timber-framed house at Newport, Essex. The cuttings are chiefly illustrative. The file also includes a photocopy of an article by Raymond Hayes on a cruck-framed house in Farndale, North Yorkshire, from the 'Dalesman' (May 1979), pp. 108-111. File contents retained in original classification order, and chronologically within this.
