Wallops (Nine-Pins)
Description
Adult male playing wallops, or nine-pins, in the street at Castle Bolton ( Wensleydale). The game is played by throwing a stick from a distance at nine wooden skittles/pins set out in square. The object of the game is to knock down all nine skittles in as few throws as possible. Mounted on Photo File card with LAVC/PHO/P1743. With ms. note. Card 2 in a series of 6.
