In this full-page miniature David holds a sword and the severed head of Goliath, whose body clad in full armour lies in the foreground. An army of soldiers stands in the distance. The border is formed from architectural pillars supporting the statues of two soldiers, one with his arms folded on his chest, the other as if punching the air.
