Coal-Fired Range
Description
Coal-fired range in Leslie Feather's shop, Haworth (West Yorkshire). The range is eight feet long, with two hotplates each two inches thick, and was made by Joseph Wright of Shipley. The heat is regulated by a damper. A flue is fitted into the wall, with a removable brick for sweeping out soot. The right-hand hotplate is shellacced, and greased with a rag rubbed in lard in preparation for making oatcakes. Mounted on Photo File card. With ms. note.
