Ropemaking Device
Description
Cast-iron ropemaking device, Low Bells Shielon the River Tweed, near West Ord (Northumberland). The device has three hand-forged hooks, and was used for making cable-laid rope from old (salmon) fishing nets. Its wooden frame is missing. Mounted on Photo File card. With typed note. Originally held in Photo File: Ropemaking.
