Fieldnotes and Interview Transcriptions
Description
Typed notes from some fieldwork in South Yorkshire, relating to the tradition of singing local Christmas carols in pubs in the region. These notes refer to a visit in November 1970 to Penistone Working Men's Club. Ms. versions of the fieldnotes can be found in the spiral bound notebook. Also found in this notebook are ms. transcripts from interviews with a wheelwright and two blacksmiths, which relate to two tape recordings held. These last two transcripts were completed by Maragret Jackson.
