Description
Typed transcriptions of Anglo-Manx ( Isle of Man) dialect ( Michael Barry, 1966) and East Yorkshire dialect ( John Widdowson, 1970). Also typed transcriptions of Survey of English Dialects (SED) informants from audio-recordings made in Denton (Michael Barry, 1959), Horsington ( Stanley Ellis, 1959), South Zeal (Stanley Ellis, 1959), Firle (Michael Barry, 1959), Stogumber (Stanley Ellis, 1956), Farndon (Michael Barry and Philip Tilling, 1968), Hanbury ( Donald Sykes, 1956), Welford (Philip Tilling, 1963), Ashwellthorpe and Steeple Aston ( Harold Orton and Philip Tilling, 1969) and Little Bentley ( Howard N. Berntsen, 1962). Transcriptions for Farndon, Hanbury, Welford, Ashwellthorpe, Steeple Aston and Little Bentley were checked by Harold Orton and Peter Tilling, in 1969.
