Description
Response book recording the answers given by informants during the Survey of English Dialect. It includes 9 sections that cover a range of topics relating to work, domestic and social life. Answers are recorded in the International Phonetic Alphabet. Interviews have been carried out by fieldworker Donald Sykes. There are three informants for this response book - Fred Smith, Albert Jackson and Albert Reynolds. Their responses can be found in the following books: Fred Smith - I, II, III Albert Jackson - IV, VI, VIII Albert Reynolds - V, VII The index for the response book can be found with book I. Location, biographical or phonetic notes will be shown either in the final notes section or within the book they appear in. Note that Kinnersley is currently known as Kynnersley.
