Description
This sub-subseries contains the illustrative items Harold Orton used to accompany his lectures and talks. This includes compilation files of Questionnaire response book pages, locality and word maps, word list (responses) and Basic Material samples (all copies), as well as files of hand-drawn sketches and diagrams.

| System of Arrangement | The locality maps are arranged in county and Survey of English Dialects region order, and according to whether the fieldwork localities are numbered or unnumbered. The diagrams have been filed by individual word, in alphabetical order, while the draft word maps and response lists are arranged by region and alphabetically by individual word. This is an imposed order, as no original order was apparent. |
