Editorial Procedure
Description
This subseries consists of papers relating to editorial work on the fieldwork data collected for the Survey of English Dialects (SED), in preparation for its publication. This includes papers on editorial practices and procedures to be adhered to, chiefly compiled by Harold Orton; IPA ( International Phonetic Association) script and special characters to be used; maps and reports relating to the progress of fieldwork, editing and publication; examples of experimental linguistic maps, word lists, draft copy and printers' sheets.
