Winding a Fleece: Apedale
Description
Sheep-shearer winding a fleece, Apedale (North Yorkshire). A large waterproof sheet has been laid on the ground with the fleece on top, tail end towards the shearer. The shearer is rolling the fleece from the tail end away from him. Shearing stool visible in background. Mounted on Photo File card with LAVC/PHO/P0729. With ms. notes on fleece-winding in the hand of Werner Kissling. Originally held in Photo File: Sheep Shearing.
