Description
This subseries, comprising a single file only, contains items relating to aspects of towns and town life. This includes Stella Margetson's article on Victorian pantomime, focussing on London theatres, extracted from 'Country Life' (5 December 1968), pp. 1452-1454; photocopies of M. F. Harrison's articles, 'Life at Home in 1920' (on life in Yeadon ) from the 'Dalesman' (March-April 1979), ([3] pp.), and 'Life in Yeadon in the 1920s', from an unidentified issue of the 'Dalesman', pp. 38-39; a photocopy of W. Gott's article on life in Bradford in the early 20th century, from the 'Dalesman' (July 1979), pp. 301-302; a photocopy of a mounted cutting from 'Country Life' on roadside pumps; and mounted magazine and newspaper cuttings from 'Country Life' and the 'Keighley News', on early fire engines, the history of Silsden Fire Brigade and 'Macbeth' as an unlucky play.
