Description
This file contains a series of ms. correspondence with Stewart Sanderson from informants in the Potteries (i.e. the Stoke-on-Trent area), in response to articles in the 'Hanley Daily Sentinel' and the 'Staffordshire Evening Sentinal' appealing for information on proverbs and sayings peculiar to the Potteries region. Each ms. letter is accompanied by a typed copy. Some typed responses to correspondents from Sanderson are also included in this file. Correspondence arranged chronologically, with undated letters first.
