Description
Response book recording the answers given by informants during the Survey of English Dialect. It includes 9 sections that cover a range of topics relating to work, domestic and social life. Answers are recorded in the International Phonetic Alphabet. Interviews have been carried out by fieldworker Peter Wright. There are four informants for this response book - Mr John William Cooper, Mr William Brown, Mr John Cooper and Mr Isaac Burgess. Their responses can be found in the following books: Mr John William Cooper - I, II, III Mr William Brown - IV, VI, VII Mr John Cooper - V, VIII, IX Mr Isaac Burgess - VI, VIII The index for the response book can be found with book I. Location, biographical or phonetic notes will be shown either in the final notes section or within the book they appear in.
