Institute Open Day Exhibition Photographs

Description

The photographs were displayed at a University Open Day on November 3rd and 4th, 1978. This exhibition showed the work of overseas postgraduate students based in the Institute of Dialect and Folk Life Studies, and drew on photographs and audio recordings submitted with their theses. The photographic items in this file are enlarged copies taken from Robert Maduakor's 1976 MA thesis on Igbo festivals in Nigeria( LAVC/SRP/1/061), photo references LAVC/PHO/P2064-2068; and Wilson Ebot's 1978 study of belief and custom relating to witchcraft and sorcery among the Ejagham in West Cameroon( LAVC/SRP/1/004), photo references LAVC/PHO/P2069-2074.
