Description
Response book recording the answers given by informants during the Survey of English Dialect. It includes 9 sections that cover a range of topics relating to work, domestic and social life. Answers are recorded in the International Phonetic Alphabet. Interviews have been carried out by fieldworker David Parry. There are three informants for this response book - Mr Charles Hemmings, Mrs Elsie Hemmings and Mr Jim Parker. Their responses can be found in the following books: Charles Hemmings - I, II, III, IV, V, VIII Elsie Hemmings - V, VI, VII Jim Parker - VI, VII The index for the response book can be found with book I. Location, biographical or phonetic notes will be shown either in the final notes section or within the book they appear in. Note that the final answers of the previous book may appear on the first page of the next book.
