Description
Response book recording the answers given by informants during the Survey of English Dialect. It includes 9 sections that cover a range of topics relating to work, domestic and social life. Answers are recorded in the International Phonetic Alphabet. Interviews have been carried out by fieldworker Donald Sykes. There are four informants for this response book - Charles Williams, Jim Thomas, Fred Sayce and George Edwards. Their responses can be found in the following books: Charles Williams - I, II, IV, IX Jim Thomas - III, VII, VIII Fred Sayce - V George Edwards - VI The index for the response book can be found with book I. Location, biographical or phonetic notes will be shown either in the final notes section or within the book they appear in.
