Multiple copies of draft typescripts edited by Harold Orton for a series of seven radio talks, “The History of English”, dated 1948-1949 (n.b. programmes 3 and 4 are missing); BBC European Programmes Bulletin, no. 408 (September 1947); London Calling Europe bulletins, no. 25 (July 1948) and no. 32 (September 1948). Orton’s broadcasts discuss the history of English, the growth of English, loan words, grammar, sounds and spelling. 1 file. 1948-1949.
