Description
St. Gregory the Great, Pope Gregory I, kneels at the altar during Mass, with an assistant holding a long candle and a bell. Christ appears to him on the altar, on which are laid a book (a missal?) and a chalice. St. Gregory holds the bread of the eucharist. Context: Prayers at and after mass
