Hay Net
Description
Hay net made of sisal twine hung from a stake in a field near Hawes ( Wensleydale). A hay net filled with hay was tied to the back of horse-drawn carts travelling long distances, ready for the horses to feed when stopped for a rest (information provided by T. G. Outhwaite). Mounted on Photo File card. With typed note. Originally held in Photo File: Care and Management of Livestock.
