"SED Dialect Correspondents”. Ms. correspondence and Harold Orton’s carbon copy replies to queries relating to the Survey of English Dialects, and dialect generally. The file is arranged alphabetically by author surname. Queries include the availability of dialect maps, the Basic Material volumes, the production of a dialect atlas, the Dieth-Orton Questionnaire, other regional dialect surveys, the availability of dialect recordings, personal research and glossaries (including student research), fieldwork techniques and equipment, specific dialect words, and potential Survey of English Dialects informants.
