This file includes a mounted newspaper article from the 'Yorkshire Post'(19 November 1979), on children's jokes and Sandra McCosh's fieldwork collecting jokes from schoolchildren in Leeds for her M.A. thesis; a mounted photocopy of a page from Thomas Winder's 'T' Heft an' Blades o' Shevvield' (Sheffield: Sheffield Independent Press, 1907), featuring song texts for 'The Cow-Lady' and 'Game Song'; ms. words to dirty rhymes and skipping rhymes, collected by a pupil from Putney High School (January 1972); typed correspondence between J. S. Blackburn and Stewart Sanderson on the vocabulary of schoolboy fights at Norton School ( Stockton-on-Tees) in 1914-1918 (December 1969-January 1970); and a photocopy of an article from the 'Sunday Times' (20 April 1975) on Sandra McCosh's collecting of children's jokes and forthcoming publication, 'Children's Jokes for Children' (Tandem Books). File contents retained in original classification order, and chronologically within this.
