St. Paul (fol. 484v)
Description
Initial 'P' shows St. Paul holding a sword, the instrument of his martyrdom. The initial is further decorated with a satyr-like grotesque. The ornamental initial 'G' above is infilled with foliage and a small animal head. Context: Pauline Epistles: Epistle to the Galatians
