Haymaking: Wooden Hay Sweep
Description
Farmer, Mr. Fothergill, unloading hay gathered using a wooden hay sweep pulled by a draft horse, outside a stone barn in a field at Cowgill ( Dentdale). The sweep is unloaded by pressing up the handles, thus causing the teeth to come up against the ground and the sweep to tumble as the horse pulls it. Mounted on Photo File card with LAVC/PHO/P1063. With typed note. Originally held in Photo File: Haymaking.
