Description
Response book recording the answers given by informants during the Survey of English Dialect. It includes 9 sections that cover a range of topics relating to work, domestic and social life. Answers are recorded in the International Phonetic Alphabet. Interviews have been carried out by fieldworker Marie Haslam. There are five informants for this response book - Bracey, Potter, Newbury, Matthews and Freeman. Their responses can be found in the following books: Bracey - I, II, III, IV Potter - I, II Newbury - IV, Matthews - V, VI, VIII Freeman - V, VII, VIII, IX The index for the response book can be found with book I, which includes the notes that this is a copy of the original. Location, biographical or phonetic notes will be shown either in the final notes section or within the book they appear in.
